Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, seeks a registered nurse to provide safe, competent care in a 170-bed acute care setting. You will lead professional nursing support, following patient-centered care principles and our service excellence standards.

You will collaborate with the healthcare team, develop and implement care plans, and ensure timely discharge planning. BLS, Nevada RN license, and STABLE/NRP readiness are required, with pre-employment assessments as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
• Current Nevada nursing license.
• Current BLS certificate; NRP within 6 months of hire.
• STABLE (or obtained within six months of employment).
• Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.

Responsibilities

• Involves patient and family psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population-specific, and diversity needs in care assessment.
• Constructs and implements the plan of care using nursing knowledge and skill; integrates direct and indirect patient care activities.
• Coordinates interdisciplinary plan of care; develops goals, treatment plans and discharge plans.
• Completes hourly rounds with focus on communication, safety, and patient comfort.

Job summary

Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Involves the patient and family psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population specific, and diversity needs in care assessment.
• Constructs and implements the plan of care using nursing knowledge and skill. Integrates direct and indirect patient care activities related to the diagnosis and co-morbidities.
• Coordinates the implementation of the interdisciplinary plan of care for assigned patients. Develops goals, treatment plans, and discharge plans that meet individual patient/family needs.
• Consistently completes hourly rounds with purpose to strengthen nurse communication, improve safety, and anticipate patient needs (i.e. pain, re-positioning, toileting). Rounds with purpose including pro-actively evaluating the environment to ensure it is patient friendly and patient safe.
