Job summary

Highpoint Health Sumner in Gallatin, TN is seeking a registered nurse (RN) for PRN shifts. You will provide direct patient care across inpatient units using the nursing process, with opportunities to float and support multiple teams.

The role requires an RN license, an Associate degree (Bachelor's preferred), 1-2 years bedside experience and 2-4 years of critical care preferred; BCLS is required, ACLS/PALS preferred. We offer benefits and career growth in a community-focused setting.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience: 1-2 years bedside RN experience required; 2-4 years critical care preferred.
• Licensure: Current RN license in state of practice; BCLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred.
• Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work under stress; English communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process across multiple inpatient units.
• Flexible to float and collaborate with interprofessional teams to support safe, high-quality care.
• Document care in a timely, accurate manner and communicate patient conditions to the care team.
• Assist with activities of daily living and coordinate transfers, discharges, and referrals.
• Engage in education for patients/families and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
