Job summary

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates nursing care, establishes priorities and delegates nursing activities according to patient needs and staff's capabilities and qualifications.
• Assists team members in providing care to patients or administering direct care when professional nursing skills and judgment are required.
• Recognizes, appreciates, and incorporates unique differences of patient/family into an individualized plan of care.
• Assesses patient and family level of understanding to provide effective communication.
• Creates a compassionate, supportive, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients/families and staff.
• Uses strategies and available resources for problem solving for patient/family and staff.
• Prepares, administers, and documents medications and treatments safely, accurately, and in accordance with policies.
• Provides patient and family education to support transitions within the health care environment.
