Job summary

Opelousas General Health System is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse for the Recovery unit in Opelousas, LA. You will provide direct nursing care across infant through geriatric patients, following the nursing process and collaborating with physicians and the nursing team.

The role requires graduation from an accredited nursing school and a current Louisiana RN license with CPR; ACLS/PALS preferred. PRN opportunities emphasize flexibility and patient-centered care in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited School of Nursing with either an Associate or Bachelor degree.
• Current La State Board of Nursing license and CPR certification; ACLS/PALS preferred.
• RN responsibilities require handling complex devices and patient monitoring.

Education: Graduate of accredited School of Nursing with either an Associate or Bachelor degree.

License/Certification: La State Board of Nursing License and CPR required. ACLS and PALS preferred.

Additional experience preferred:

• One year of RN experience preferred
• Current knowledge of clinical practice.
• Ability to operate and handle many kinds of complex equipment.
• Ability to demonstrate clinical competence and maintain current knowledge in caring for adolescent through geriatric patients.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Knowledge of theory, principles, techniques, and practice of professional nursing; of scientific principles and nursing research; of preparation, administration, and actions of medications; of treatments and medical procedures; of counseling and teaching techniques; of medical equipment as it relates to patient care.
