Job summary

Nexus Neurorecovery Center in San Antonio is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for overnight, PRN care of adolescent residents with medical and behavioral health needs. The RN provides direct, holistic nursing care within a structured residential setting, following BON guidelines and Nexus policies.

Required ADN, with BSN preferred, plus 2 years inpatient or rehab experience and 1–2 years pediatric nursing experience. Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills are essential.

Qualifications

• ADN from an accredited nursing program required.
• BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in an inpatient hospital or rehabilitation setting preferred.
• 1–2 years of pediatric nursing experience preferred.
• Experience with behavioral health and/or medically complex patients strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adolescent patients.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders.
• Monitor patient status and escalate as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and behavioral health professionals to implement care plans.
• Educate residents and families on medications and health conditions.
• Coordinates care for residents with co-occurring medical and behavioral health needs.
• Ensures adherence to safety protocols and documentation requirements.
