Job summary

CORE Occupational Medicine in Big Spring, TX is seeking an experienced Occupational Medicine Registered Nurse (RN) for a PRN role at our local site. You will administer treatments for work-related injuries, educate clients on safety and first aid, and maintain accurate patient records as part of our occupational health team.

The ideal candidate holds a state RN license and a nursing certificate, with preferred experience in occupational medicine or ER/family practice.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED with accredited nursing certificate program completed.
• Valid state RN licensure.
• Experience in occupational medicine or ER/family practice preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment of work-related injuries and evaluates its effectiveness.
• Provides client education in safety, first aid, CPR and related areas.
• Maintains patients' records and documents care provided.
• Performs client services per Occupational Health and Safety protocols.
• Demonstrates courtesy, care, and professionalism toward patients and team members.
• Works well in fast-paced environments and as part of a team or independently.
• Utilizes basic computer systems, clerical tasks, and strong communication.
• Direct patient care: wound care, dressing, suturing, splinting, ROM, therapies, meds.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Responsibilities

• Administers treatment of work-related injuries and evaluates and documents its effectiveness.
• Provides client education in areas related to safety, first aid, CPR and others as needed.
• Assures proper maintenance of patients' records.
• Performs client services related to Occupational Health and Safety protocols.
• Demonstrates a courteous, caring and understanding attitude towards patients, clients, co-workers, visitors, volunteers, peers and medical providers.
• Must be well organized, flexible and able to function effectively as part of a cohesive team and independently with little supervision.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, interruption prone environment.
• Demonstrates creative problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks utilizing limited resources.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Basic computer, clerical, phone etiquette and customer service skills.
• Direct patient care skills to include, but not limited to: assisting with wound cleansing, dressing and suturing; suture removal; splint application/removal; range of motion treatment; heat and cold therapy; medication administration; and respiratory treatment as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

• High school Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and completion of an accredited nursing certificate program.
• Valid state RN licensure
• Prior occupational medicine or emergency room/family practice related work experience preferred.
