Job summary

A leading occupational medicine provider is seeking an experienced Occupational Medicine Registered Nurse (RN) for their West Odessa, TX site. This PRN position offers multiple shifts and a rewarding work environment with competitive salary and benefits. Responsibilities include administering treatments, providing client education, and maintaining records. Applicants should possess a valid RN licensure and have prior experience in occupational medicine or emergency care. This role requires strong patient care skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Must have prior occupational medicine or emergency room/family practice experience.
• Case management experience and certifications in CAHOC, NIOSH PFT, DOT drug screening are a plus.
• Prior occupational medicine or ER/family practice experience preferred.
• Case Management experience is a plus along with CAHOC, NIOSH PFT and DOT drug screening/BAT certifications.

Responsibilities

• Administer treatments of work-related injuries.
• Educate clients on safety, first aid, and CPR.
• Maintain patient records properly.
• Perform client services related to Occupational Health and Safety.
• Display a caring attitude towards patients and clients.
• Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, interruption-prone environment.
• Demonstrates creative problem-solving and prioritizes tasks with limited resources.
• Basic computer, clerical, phone etiquette and customer service skills.
• Direct patient care: wound care, suturing, splints, ROM, heat/cold therapy, medications, respiratory treatments.
• Other duties as assigned.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Administers treatment of work-related injuries and evaluates and documents its effectiveness.
• Provides client education in areas related to safety, first aid, CPR and others as needed.
• Assures proper maintenance of patients' records.
• Performs client services related to Occupational Health and Safety protocols.
• Demonstrates a courteous, caring and understanding attitude towards patients, clients, co-workers, visitors, volunteers, peers and medical providers.
• Must be well organized, flexible and able to function effectively as part of a cohesive team and independently with little supervision.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, interruption prone environment.
• Demonstrates creative problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks utilizing limited resources.
• Basic computer, clerical, phone etiquette and customer service skills.
• Direct patient care skills to include, but not limited to: assisting with wound cleansing, dressing and suturing; suture removal; splint application/removal; range of motion treatment; heat and cold therapy; medication administration; and respiratory treatment as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and completion of an accredited nursing certificate program.
• Valid state RN licensure
• Prior occupational medicine or emergency room/family practice related work experience preferred.

Case Management experience is a plus along with certifications in CAHOC, NIOSH PFT and DOT drug screening collections/BAT
