Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates the Flint Hills Job Corps Center in Manhattan, KS, providing nursing and health services to students. The RN on site ensures clinical care is delivered per state nursing acts and medical protocols.

The role includes supervising LPNs/LVNs, administering basic health services, monitoring ill students, and assisting with immunization entry requirements as part of a broader wellness program.

Qualifications

• Valid, unrestricted RN license in the state of employment.
• Experience working with youth in a paid or unpaid capacity is preferred.
• A valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to students under medical provider authorization and state scope.
• Supervise LPNs/LVNs to ensure compliance with regulations and scope of practice.
• Deliver basic health care to students including entry requirements and immunizations.
• Monitor students who are ill and unable to attend class.

What you will be doing:

You’ll be responsible for treating and preventing minor injuries and illnesses assuring all medical clinical care is provided to students. They will provide information and guidance for the promotion of good health and well-being of our students.

Essential Functions

• Provide nursing care to students as authorized by the medical provider and within scope for state-specific nurse practice act
• Provide supervision to the staff LPNs (Licensed Practical Nurse)/ LVNs to assure compliance with all state regulations and scope of practice and nurse practice act for practical and/ or vocational nurses
• Provide basic health care to students as required by DOL including all entry requirements and immunizations
• Monitor students with illness and unable to attend class.

Education And Experience Requirements
