Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a registered nurse to provide direct patient care using the nursing process across shifts. You will prioritize delivery of care, collaborate with families and the care team, and ensure informed consent and patient education during admissions.

The role requires an ADN from an accredited program, NM or compact state licensure, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

  • Degree from an accredited nursing program with ADN minimum.
  • State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License required.
  • BLS certification required (AHA/ASHI/Red Cross accepted).
  • Experience with nursing care standards and patient education.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee delivery of patient care and delegate to home health aides and staff.
  • Coordinate patient care with families, physicians and resources.
  • Educate patients and families about rights, consent and discharge needs.
  • Maintain proficiency with equipment and EPIC charting system.
  • Participate in problem solving and on-call triage as needed.

Responsible for prioritizing the delivery of direct nursing care using time and resources efficiently integrating a standards-based framework model.How you grow, learn and thrive matters here.• Educational and career development options, including tuition and certification reimbursement, scholarship opportunities• Staff Safety (a wearable badge that allows nurses to quickly and discreetly call for help when safety is a concern)• Differentials for night/weekend shifts, higher education, certifications and various lead roles (for eligible positions)• Malpractice liability insurance• Loan forgiveness through the New Mexico Higher Education Department• EPIC electronic charting systemType of Opportunity: Full time FTE: 1.00 Job Exempt: No Work Shift: Varied Days and Hours (United States of America)Responsibilities:*Acts as clinical resource by overseeing the delivery of patient care, directs and delegates patient care assignments to home health aides and nursing staff based on acuteness of patient care needs and staff capability and anticipates future needs *Maintains clinically competent in providing direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.. *Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient, family, all other disciplines, primary and secondary physicians and community resources/programs. *Demonstrates knowledge philosophy and provides support to patients and their families. *Ensures that patients understand their rights and responsibilities, advanced directives and the meaning of informed consent during the admission process. *Assesses and directs patient and family teaching needs and is proficient in the use of return demonstration and teaching aids in the home setting. *Maintains professional responsibility for knowledge of current nursing research, practice standards, guidelines and protocols, and hospital policies, procedures, and programs to improve patient care quality. *Maintains a proficiency in the use of all equipment used in his/her practice. *Effectively communicates and assists other members of nursing team and/or other disciplines.
