Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Pre-Op/PACU unit at our Volunteer Surgery Center in Talbott, TN.

This part-time, PRN role focuses on delivering patient-centered care through all phases of the nursing process and coordinating with the surgical team to ensure safe, efficient care before, during, and after procedures. The RN will administer medications, monitor patients, educate families, and participate in emergency responses while upholding infection

Qualifications

• Current RN license to practice in Tennessee.
• CPR certification required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Conducts thorough patient assessments and documents findings.
• Administers prescribed medications, monitors for side effects, and documents administration.
• Assists physicians during procedures within the scope of documented competency.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized care plans.
• Responds to medical emergencies and participates in life-saving interventions (CPR, code team).
• Provides patient and family education on conditions and discharge plans.
• Implements infection control protocols and maintains a safe environment.
• Monitors and operates medical equipment as needed for patient care and safety.
• Ensures patient safety by following National Patient Safety Goals.
