Job summary

Westgate Surgery Center is seeking a dedicated RN Pre-Assessment Testing Nurse to join our outpatient team. The role focuses on patient safety, assessment, and prep for discharge, ensuring consistent, compassionate care for each patient from pre-op through anesthesia recovery.

Responsibilities include performing comprehensive assessments, assisting physicians as needed, and maintaining sterile technique, while applying nursing judgment to prioritize care in a fast-paced surgical setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Strong communication skills; able to prioritize and organize workload.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition.
• Assists physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate.
• Provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.
