Job summary

Westgate Surgery Center is seeking an RN Pre-Assessment Testing Nurse to provide continuous and quality nursing care for all patients, ensuring safety, comfort, and privacy. The role may involve assisting physicians in procedure rooms, managing conscious sedation, and maintaining sterile technique as needed.

The nurse will deliver comprehensive care to patients emerging from anesthesia or sedation, including assessment, planning, and evaluation for discharge, while prioritizing patient safety

Qualifications

• BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications required (PALS if center requires).
• Experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Strong nursing judgment and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for patients throughout evaluation and discharge planning.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile techniques as appropriate.
• Care for patients emerging from general anesthesia or sedation, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation for discharge.

RN Pre-Assessment Testing Nurse (RN) at Westgate Surgery Center

The RN Pre-Assessment Testing Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
• Active RN license in the state
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
• 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
