Job summary

Cynet Health is seeking a Registered Nurse - Postpartum in Santa Rosa, CA for a 12-month assignment. Shift is 12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with full-time hours. Requires CA RN license, BLS, NRP, and recent obstetric/newborn experience.

Graduate of an accredited nursing program; strong IV skills, meds administration including Magnesium, Oxytocin, Insulin, and proficiency with newborn care and monitoring are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program is required.
• Demonstrated IV skills and ability to perform lab draws are essential.
• Demonstrated knowledge of high-risk medication administration including Magnesium, Oxytocin, and Insulin is needed.
• Demonstrated ability to perform Urine Point of Care testing is required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of capillary blood glucose testing must be exhibited.
• Demonstrated knowledge of IStat is essential.
• Demonstrated ability to perform Adult Cardiac monitoring is necessary.
• Demonstrated knowledge of newborn monitors including pulse oximetry and cardiac monitoring is required.
• Demonstrated ability to perform heel sticks and venipuncture on newborns is essential.
• Demonstrated knowledge of newborn medication including ability to perform IV administration and maintenance must be exhibited.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Bili-blankets and lights is needed.
• Demonstrated knowledge of radiant warmers is necessary.
• Demonstrated knowledge to support gyn teaching and post-operative bladder training is required.
• Demonstrated knowledge to support maternal-newborn teaching must be exhibited.

Responsibilities

• Provide postpartum care to mothers and newborns.
• Administer medications including magnesium, oxytocin, and insulin.
• Perform electronic fetal monitoring and monitor newborn status.
• Conduct heel sticks, venipuncture, and capillary testing as needed.
• Maintain newborn monitors and related equipment and supplies.

Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field is preferred.Minimum three years of labor and delivery experience is beneficial.Minimum three years of postpartum experience is desired.Minimum one year of medical/surgical nursing experience is preferred.
