Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations and donor eligibility determination in Wisconsin. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician for medical guidance and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor safety, and contribute to EHS-related activities while supporting vaccination programs and incident reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Licensed in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: RN, NP or PA.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Satisfactorily complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of SPE.
• Evaluate donor reaction(s) at the facility per SOPs and coordinate with Center Physician for emergencies and standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER with EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
