Job summary

Rolling Hills Hospital in Franklin, TN is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for the Per Diem Pool to join our behavioral health team. The RN provides direct patient care, participates in crisis management, and supports the treatment team to maintain a therapeutic milieu throughout shifts.

The role requires a nursing degree and a Tennessee RN license, with preference given to candidates with behavioral health and inpatient psychiatric experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Associates degree in nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Valid Registered Nurse license in Tennessee.
• Nursing experience in the behavioral health field preferred.
• One year inpatient psychiatric experience with adults and adolescents preferred.
• CPR certification (training provided).
• Handle with Care (HWC) certification (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as prescribed by the physician and treatment team.
• Manage and assess patients; ensure environmental safety and crisis management.
• Direct the implementation of behavior management programs and monitor subordinates.
• Provide training and education to staff, patients, and families; document care.

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care as prescribed by the physician and treatment team. Provides medical management and assessment of patients; ensures environmental safety and crisis management for the patient population; directs the implementation of behavior management programs and ensures consistent carry-through. Is responsible for making the patient and task assignments to subordinates and monitors their duties. The Registered Nurse provides training and education to staff, patients, families; documents patient care and ensures data is accurate and included in the master treatment plan via timely nursing care plan updates. Works with the treatment team to provide consistently therapeutic milieu.

Standard Per Diem Pool Requirements:

• Standard requirement is three shifts per month and one holiday per year.
• Requirements may be adjusted based on department needs and candidate availability.
• PRN employees must work a minimum of 500 hours to be eligible for merit increases.
