Job summary

Cynet Health is seeking a registered nurse for the pediatric oncology unit on a 13-week night shift assignment in Oklahoma City. The role requires supervising nursing care for complex pediatric cases, with emphasis on oncology treatments and infusion therapies.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
• 6 months of level I trauma experience.
• Minimum 6 months of pediatric hematology/oncology experience.
• Current RN License and active certifications (BLS, PALS, APHON Chemotherapy).

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for pediatric oncology patients under general supervision.
• Document patient responses to interventions and physician orders.
• Assist physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor effects.
• Initiate and monitor IV infusions and blood products.
• Communicate care plans with patients and families and coordinate discharge planning.

Description:Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients.Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; notes all changes in physician orders on assigned patients.Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment.Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes the physiological manifestations of patients, and intervenes when necessary.Administers medication as prescribed.Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.Delivers patient care competently.Interacts with family and patient in sharing care plan while in the hospital and at time of discharge.Informs patient and family of hospital procedures.Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.Delegates tasks to support staff.Performs other duties as assigned.
