Cynet Health is seeking an experienced RN for Pediatric CVICU for a 13-week assignment in Palo Alto, CA. The role requires 3+ years of pediatric CVICU experience, a current RN license, and active BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications. Shift is days, 12-hour shifts.

The Clinical Nurse II will partner with the care team to deliver patient-centered care across infancy to adulthood, applying evidence-based practice, safety, and quality improvement. Compliance with regulatory standards is essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of pediatric CVICU RN experience.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care using the nursing process and maintain accountability for assigned patients.
  • Collaborate with the inter-professional healthcare team to coordinate care across the continuum.

Description:The Clinical Nurse II is an RN who practices as a full partner on the healthcare team.This role consistently demonstrates safe practice within the organizational professional practice model.The Clinical Nurse II possesses the knowledge, skills, and attitude to effectively meet standards for competent professional nursing practice as specified in the job description.The nurse independently provides patient care through the application of the nursing process and accepts accountability for the nursing care of assigned patients.Assigned patients may range in age from infancy to adulthood.This role demonstrates competency in patient and family-centered care, evidence-based practice and research, safety, continuous quality improvement, teamwork, technology/informatics, professionalism, and leadership.The Clinical Nurse II works closely with the inter-professional healthcare team to facilitate the coordination of care across the continuum.The nurse focuses on expanding knowledge and skills necessary to provide individualized care based on physical, psychosocial, cultural, educational, safety, and age-appropriate considerations of assigned patients.The Clinical Nurse II seeks feedback in assuming leadership roles and provides feedback for improved clinical practice.The nurse demonstrates how nursing practice impacts the organizational vision, mission, and goals.Compliance with all regulations and standards of regulatory and accrediting bodies is essential.

Essential Functions:Patient and Family Centered Care:Recognizes the patient or the patient's designee as the source of control and full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care.Demonstrates respect for the patient's preferences, values, and needs.Manages more complex patient care assignments appropriate to skill level.Participates in building consensus and resolving conflict in the context of patient care.Demonstrates the ability to see the "big picture".Utilizes clinical experience and historical patient responses to develop and refine practice.Engages in problem solving to address complex issues regarding the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-and family-centered care.Ensures that the systems within the area of practice support patient-centered care.

Evidence-Based Practice and Research:Evaluates and integrates best current evidence with clinical expertise and patient/family preferences for the delivery of optimal healthcare.Utilizes the evidence-based practice process to generate clinical questions, search, and evaluate evidence.Questions current practice and develops a sense of clinical inquiry.Recognizes and communicates the need for revision of policies and procedures for clinical practice evaluation.

Safety:Minimizes risk of harm to patients, families, providers, and self.Serves as a resource person for safety concerns.Demonstrates skills in problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation.Participates in analyzing errors and designing system improvements.
