Job summary

vTech Solution is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) to provide specialized care to critically ill children. You will monitor and respond to complex clinical changes, coordinate with the team, and support families throughout the care journey.

Floating to NICU or other units within your skill set is required, with orientation provided for new hires. Weekend shifts are part of the schedule and there is ongoing collaboration with physicians and therapists.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license with at least 2 years of critical care experience.
• Current BLS and PALS certifications (required).
• Experience with pediatric critical care procedures and equipment.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) provides specialized nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients. This role involves managing complex clinical situations including respiratory support, invasive lines, and post-operative care. The nurse collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care, perform advanced procedures, and support patient and family needs. A minimum of 2 years of critical care experience is required, with strong competencies in pediatric critical care and related specialties.

Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications

• Active Registered Nurse license with at least 2 years of critical care experience.
• Current BLS and PALS certifications (required).
• Experience with pediatric critical care procedures and equipment.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications

• NRP and CRRT certifications (preferred).
• Previous charge nurse experience (preferred).
• Experience with ENT, general surgery, orthopedic, post‑op/pre‑op care.

Special Considerations

• Floating to NICU or other units within skill set is required.
• Orientation will be provided for new hires.
• Perm candidates from non‑Swedish Providence facilities are eligible after 3 months separation.
• Active compact licenses are honored across Swedish facilities.
• Weekend work every other weekend is required.
• Travel nurses must meet unit needs and may have up to 3 days return‑to‑office (RTO) without additional screening.
• No holiday RTO allowed for travelers.

Scheduling

• Self-scheduling is available for permanent staff; travelers schedule to meet unit needs.
• Shift patterns include weekends every other weekend.
• Shifts and assignments may vary based on unit requirements and floating needs.
