Job summary

MercyOne Medical Group in Des Moines, IA seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) on the night shift. The 6-bed PICU provides care for Level II trauma and pediatric cases, with a team approach and access to specialized physicians.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current or compact state licensure as a registered nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter – Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certified within six (6) weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, and implements nursing care while ensuring patient comfort.
• Maintains knowledge of equipment setup, maintenance, and use (IV pumps, monitoring equipment, drainage devices).
• Guides and directs healthcare personnel in caring for patients.
• Initiates emergency support measures (cardiopulmonary resuscitation).
