Job summary

Dayton Children's is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department at the Main Campus. The role focuses on delivering professional nursing care to critically ill and injured pediatric patients, working within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

The RN will interact with an interdisciplinary team, follow ANA and Ohio Board of Nursing standards, and contribute to a patient and family-centered care model.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Nursing (required).
• RN license in Ohio (required).
• CPR certification (required).
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (required).

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care per ANA and Ohio Board of Nursing standards.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to plan and deliver care per patient/family needs.
• Promote positive patient and family experience and support, adapting to census and needs.
• Support and participate in quality and safety initiatives within the ED.

Facility: Dayton Children's - Main Campus Department: Emergency Department - Main Campus Schedule: Full time Hours: 36 Job Details: The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care utilizing the standards of care and the standards of professional performance outlined by the American Nurses Association and the Ohio Board of Nursing. The RN interacts with an interdisciplinary team to promote the optimal health potential of the patient and family, delivering competent nursing care based on a documented assessment of the patient/family needs and the hospital mission. The RN promotes a patient and family experience-oriented environment and acts as a change agent to meet the rapidly changing census and needs of all customers-both internal and external.

Commitment to obtain Bachelors of Science in Nursing within 5 years of hire. Graduation from an accredited program of nursing. Registered Nursing license in State of Ohio.

Department Specific Job Details: Dayton Children's is home to the region's only Level 1 pediatric trauma center. The emergency department staff at Dayton Children's specializes in one thing: caring for critically ill and injured children—with two convenient locations, you can rest assured that no matter what the emergency, our team is ready to provide the highest quality care. Dayton Children's main campus emergency department includes 47 treatment rooms, with an average census of 200 patients per day.

Full time (36 hours/3 shifts per week) and Part time (24 hours/2 shifts per week) shifts available. Shifts: 7a-7p or 7p-7a, 11a-11p or 11p-11a, 3a-3p or 3p-3a.

Education Requirements: Associates: Nursing (Required). Certification/License Requirements: [Lic] RN: Registered Nurse (RN) - Ohio Board of Nursing, CPR: Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation - American Heart Association.
