Job summary

Baylor Scott and White Medical Center – McKinney is hiring RN for the Progressive Care Unit on a 13-week seasonal contract. Day shifts with a 1:4 patient ratio, orientation in the first week, and a $1,500 completion bonus are offered.

Qualifications

• Min of 1 yr PCU experience.
• A degree from a recognized nursing program or two years relevant experience.
• A valid Registered Nurse license.
• Ability to obtain BLS within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in a busy Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
• Maintain patient safety and monitoring with 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Collaborate with the care team and support learning and mentoring.

Full-time Seasonal weekly requirements are three 12-hour shifts for the 13-week contract (excludes 1st week of orientation).

$1,500 completion bonus for meeting minimum productive time.

Eligible for shift differentials. $3.50 for evenings, $5 for nights, and $6 for weekends. These are stackable (as applicable by time/day).

The first week is Monday- Friday orientation.

Although this is a short term (13 week) assignment, you would be a Baylor employee (not contractual, agency, etc.). The hope is that once the assignment is concluded, you will convert to a regular FT, PT, or PRN role.

• Shift/Schedule – Day shifts 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM.

Progressive Care Unit

Our Progressive Care Unit is a fast-paced environment that includes high acuitypatients. Are you looking to increase your knowledge base? Our Progressive Care Unit leadership team fosters an environment that supportslearning, mentoring, and building every team member.

Patient Population: Medical PCU consisting of all Cardiac drips; mix of surgical post-operative volume to include vascular, ortho, neuro and trauma.

Patient Ratios: 1:4.

Number of Beds: 32 beds.

Qualifications

• A valid Registered Nurse license
• The ability to obtain a Basic Life Support certification within the first 30 days of employment.
