Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse, you will oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. You will also secure patient travel, understand patient needs, help patients, and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on patient condition and team competencies.
Essential Functions of the Role
- Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.
- Build relationships, manage discomfort, and maintain professionalism in therapeutic connections with patients and families.
- Create care plans reflecting values to aid in resolving issues.
- Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members. Empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly.
- Collaborate with colleagues and the community to create a care plan. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
- Use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
- Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, commit to growth, and contribute to peers' development. Show community service commitment.
Key Success Factors
- Deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, procedures, and laws.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, medications, and side effects.

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- RN license.
- BLS certification or obtain within 30 days of starting.
