Atlas MedStaff is looking for a PCU Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel contract in Wilmington, North Carolina. This role focuses on cardiac telemetry and stepdown care for patients with various cardiac conditions. You'll be responsible for interpreting dysrhythmias, managing cardiac drips, and supporting post-cardiac procedure care.
The position requires working night shifts and being adaptable to various unit assignments, including potential deployment during emergencies. Experience with relevant tools like Pyxis and EPIC is essential.
Step into a cardiac-focused travel contract as a PCU Registered Nurse on 12-hour nights in Wilmington, North Carolina. This assignment centers on cardiac telemetry and stepdown/PCU care for patients with conditions such as atrial fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, and valvular disease—along with experience supporting post–cardiac procedure workflows. You’ll work with unit systems like Pyxis and EPIC, using SBAR to communicate clearly across the shift.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include interpreting and managing dysrhythmias, supporting post–MI/post–cardiac cath care, and handling cardiac drips (including both “no titration” and titration when required). The role also includes specialty equipment support such as chest tubes (Emerson/Pleuravac), external CPAP/BiPAP and nasal cannula, sheath management and removal, and participation in workflows related to procedures including TAVR, Mitral Clip, Watchman (LAAO), VATS, carotid endarterectomy, and more.
Additional commitment required: contract staff may be assigned to a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and could be expected to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty, or disaster. Consolidation to a centralized office mid-contract may occur, and you may be preassigned to units as needed.
