Job summary

Medical City Lewisville is seeking an experienced Progressive Care RN (PCU) to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in the PCU. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN will support pre-operative and post-operative nursing care and advocate for patients to ensure an exceptional experience.

The role requires ACLS and BCLS within specified timelines, current RN license, BSN preferred or ADN required, and at least one year of hospital experience; prior Med Surg/PCU

Qualifications

• RN license and active credentials required.
• ACLS and BCLS certifications must be current.
• BSN preferred; ADN required.
• Minimum 1 year hospital experience.
• Med Surg or PCU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift; identify and report changes.
• Perform procedures or functions ordered by medical provider.
• Document care administration in patient records promptly and thoroughly.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor responses.
• Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment for cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• BSN Preferred, ADN required
• 1+ years experience in a hospital setting required
• Previous Med Surg or PCU experience preferred
