Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two (2) years and obtain a BSN Degree within five (5) years of job entry date.
• Current License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
• Previous experience in Pediatrics highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts patient assessments, reviews charts, and documents health status and plan of care.
• Assesses psychosocial health, identifies cultural needs, and coordinates support services.
• Identifies patient outcomes and establishes individualized goals and plans.
• Plans, prioritizes, and coordinates supplies, equipment, and medications to meet outcomes.
• Implements and documents care; ensures safety and reassesses plans as needed.
• Monitors treatment responses, communicates with family, and notes progress.
• Collaborates with care team; provides direction to staff and coordinates with physicians.
• Accurately interprets and implements physician treatment; assists during procedures.
• Performs skin care and wound care; applies dressings using aseptic technique.
• Administers medications safely; educates patients on drug interactions.
• Participates in patient/family education and discharge planning; reports changes.
• Performs related duties; adheres to ADA essential functions.
