Job summary

RN - PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR is a full-time nursing role within the VA Maine Healthcare System at Togus, ME. The position operates on a 40-hour week with a night schedule (19:30–08:00) and includes comprehensive federal benefits.

The role emphasizes coordination of patient care, leadership in nursing services, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care and efficient patient flow.

Qualifications

• English Language Proficiency required.
• Graduate of an approved nursing program (ACEN/CCNE) or equivalent.
• Active RN license in a US state, territory, or DC.
• Bridge program candidates may be considered for temporary licensure.
• GNT exception allows 120-day temporary appointment while pursuing licensure.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee patient care operations across the continuum.
• Provide nursing leadership and supervision during shifts.
• Facilitate patient flow: admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Support Nurse Manager in nursing services coordination.
• Lead quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
