Qualifications

Denville Surgery Center has an immediate need for a PRN PACU RN!

Job Summary: The RN PACU provides quality patient care using the nursing process, the medical plan of care, and organizational policies. The RN PACU ensures safe, effective, and patient-family centered care in perioperative services for all patient populations. The RN PACU supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization. The RN PACU reports to the Manager of Peri-Operative Services.

Schedule: Flexible start times, 6:30am - Noon; 10-hour shifts; variable start times. No weekends & holidays!

Required Skills:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current New Jersey Nursing License
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Pre-Op/PACU; previous experience in an ambulatory surgical setting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of surgical patients
  • Understanding principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
  • Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics
  • Knowledge to recognize, evaluate, solve problems, and correct errors
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient conditions
  • Excellent teaching, communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong professional and ethical behavior
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians, and staff (TEAMWORK)
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Demonstrate accountability, creativity, and receptiveness to change
  • Basic knowledge of Performance Improvement principles
