Job summary

Openwork Health is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse – PACU (RN PACU) to provide high-quality post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgery. This role emphasizes teamwork with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

You will exercise evidence-based nursing practices, monitor and support patient recovery, and collaborate with a committed staffing team that supports your professional growth and work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Experience in a PACU or similar acute care setting preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; additional certifications may be requested.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients immediately post-surgery and monitor recovery.
• Administer medications and treatments per PACU protocols.
• Monitor vitals, pain, and status; intervene as needed for safety and comfort.
• Document care in the electronic medical record accurately and promptly.
• Educate patients and families on post-anesthesia care and discharge steps.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to provide seamless, patient-centered care.
• Adhere to regulatory and HIPAA standards; participate in ongoing education.
