Cleveland Clinic Marymount Hospital in Garfield Heights is seeking an RN – PACU to support post-anesthesia care in a Magnet-recognized, faith-based facility. The role focuses on providing direct nursing care in a fast-paced PACU, with emphasis on patient comfort, safety, and timely recovery.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • One year of current acute care RN experience (military RN experience considered).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or Red Cross.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record and communicate patient conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.

The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) cares for post-surgical patients waiting for their anesthesia to wear off. An RN in this role, will also assist Anesthesia in the pre-operative area with regional blocks, large pops of total joints and same-day discharge. Not only will you help to enhance the experience of patients and their families, but Cleveland Clinic will help you out too. A caregiver in this position works days from 6:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide direct nursing care.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

  • One year of current acute care RN experience. Will consider military RN experience

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

  • Critical care experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
