Job summary

Cynet Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the PACU in Tacoma, WA. This 13-week assignment requires a minimum of 2 years of PACU experience, ACLS/BLS/PALS, and the ability to float between the main and secondary PACU. Shifts are 12 hours with on-call duties.

Expect a 1:2 patient-to-nurse ratio, vent/CPAP support, and EPIC charting. A BSN is not required; scrubs are provided and unit-specific orientation is included.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in PACU or similar perioperative setting.
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Must be able to float between the main and secondary PACU.
• Shifts include 12-hour shifts with on-call requirements.
• Bedside care in trauma, GYN, ortho, general surgery and related cases.

Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia care for diverse surgical patients.
• Maintain 1:2 patient-to-nurse ratios and monitor cardiac strips.
• Document in EPIC and coordinate with respiratory therapy for vents.
• Assist with discharge planning and call coverage as assigned.
• Floating between units as needed and participate in unit orientation.

Must-Have: Experience in trauma, GYN, ortho, general surgery, urology, breast, neuro, vascular, cardiac crani, TAVR, oncology, Whipples, bronchoscopy, recovery from cath lab, IR, and GI cases.

Description:Candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with the relevant health system within the past year.The main PACU has 19 beds, while a secondary PACU has 13 beds.Nurses trained in both Phase 1 and Phase 2 will float to assist with discharges.Patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:2.Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and PALS.Respiratory therapy will assist with ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP.ICU patients recover in PACU.Registered Nurses are expected to read cardiac strips.Shifts are scheduled as 12-hour shifts, with opportunities for self-scheduling for on-call shifts.Weeknight and weekend call requirements apply, with mandatory call picking up 2 shifts in a 6-week period.The call response time is 1 hour.Floating between the main PACU and the secondary PACU is required.The facility provides scrubs.Unit-specific orientation is included.The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.Charting is done using the EPIC system.A BSN is not required for this position.
