Job summary

Longmont United Hospital in Colorado is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our PACU/Preop and Endoscopy teams. You will provide direct patient care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and participate in daily patient flow across multiple units, including GI and Infusion, with robotic assistance in surgery.

Requires an Associate Degree in Nursing, RN license, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs; preferred Bachelor’s in Nursing and one year of experience.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required.
  • RN license in state of employment.
  • Physical requirements: Medium work, lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, up to 20 lbs frequently, and up to 10 lbs constantly.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, and review of medical records.
  • Evaluates patient’s response and intervenes to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Develop and implement patient plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate competency in IVs, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collection.
  • Maintain patient charts and records in a thorough and confidential manner.
  • Document ongoing status, interventions, patient response and outcomes accurately.
  • Use information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate errors, and support decision-making.
  • Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect health, safety, and rights of each patient.
  • Provide patient/family education and evaluate teaching effectiveness.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

PACU Unit Description:

At Longmont United Hospital, the Preop, PACU, GI, and Infusion departments are co-located, fostering a highly collaborative and team-oriented culture. Staff members often take on multiple responsibilities while specializing in one area, offering opportunities for diverse experience.

Our Endoscopy unit features two suites, performing an average of 170 procedures monthly running five days a week. Outpatient Infusion services manage 5-15 patients daily. We have six operating rooms, handling approximately 175 surgeries per month, including general, orthopedic, opthalmologic, urologic, ENT, and plastic surgeries, with robotic assistance.

  • You must live within 30 minutes or less of the facility for On-Call requirements. This is required and cannot be changed in any capacity.

  • Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including, but not limited to, IV's, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
  • Thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records.
  • Document ongoing status, interventions, patient response and outcomes in an accurate, timely manner.
  • Use information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision-making.
  • Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health and safety and rights of each patient.
  • Provide patient/family education through assessment of patient/family learning readiness, needs, and ability.
  • Provide teaching and evaluate effectiveness of teaching.
Job Requirements

Required

  • Associates Degree in Nursing; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
  • RN License in state of employment
  • Physical Requirements: Medium Work exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10lbs. constantly

Preferred

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing
  • One (1) year experience
