Job summary

Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, Inc., seeks an experienced Staff Nurse for Pre-/Post-Anesthesia Care. The role covers PPCU, PACU, and Endo services, with patient- and family-centered care in a fast-paced peri-operative environment.

The ideal candidate holds an NV RN license, ACLS/BCLS, PALS, and sedation certification, with 3–5 years of peri-operative experience. On-call duties and adherence to SCIP and safety initiatives are expected.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Nevada.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
• Moderate Sedation – in-house certification.
• CPAN and/or ASPAN membership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in Pre-/Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PPCU/PACU) and Endo services as needed.
• Ability to make accurate and timely clinical decisions considering patient factors.
• Manage high-stress situations with multitasking abilities.
• Participate in on-call roster.
• Engage in Core Measures, SCIP, Safety initiatives per Hospital directives.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Staff Nurse of Pre-procedural and Post-Anesthesia Care Units, as part of Peri-Operative/ Surgical Services is a clinically competent Registered Nurse in the areas of Pre-and Post-operative area, and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit; working within the provisions laid down by the Nevada State Board Of Nursing, N.R.S. 449- and N.A.C

Position Details:

• The Staff Nurse should be clinically competent in his/her area in PPCU, PACU or Endo service line, floating to task as needed in a different department to the home department, interfacing directly with patients, physicians and families.
• The Staff Nurse must have the ability to make decisions accurately and timely, taking clinical and environmental factors into consideration.
• The PPCU/PACU Staff Nurse’s area of responsibility may be stressful at times, with multi-tasking skills essential
• The Staff Nurse will be expected to participate in the on-call roster as needed
• Participate in all Core Measures, SCIP initiatives, Safety initiatives as determined by the Hospital

What qualifications you will need:

• Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing, Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred
• Licensed in State of Nevada – Registered Nurse
• Advanced Cardiac Life
• Basic Cardiac Life Support
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt
• Moderate Sedation – in house certification
• CPAN, and or/membership of ASPAN preferred.

• Minimum of 3-5 years in Peri-Operative Services, for either Endoscopy, Pre-& Post

  Operative Care unit, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. Or ICU required to qualify for

  consideration
