Job summary

ARMStaffing is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit in Austin, TX on a 13-week contract. Day shift, 09:30 AM–06:00 PM, with call requirements.

The PACU handles patients recovering from anesthesia in a 16-bed unit and documents in Meditech EMR. Prior PACU or critical care experience is highly preferred, with required PALS, ACLS, and BLS certifications.

Current RN licensure is required to begin, with shifts Monday through Friday and some weekend call.

Job Description

The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) provides care for patients recovering from anesthesia. The unit has 16 beds and typically operates with a patient ratio of 1:1 or 2:1. Equipment utilized includes IV pumps, arterial lines, bipaps, chest tubes, bladder scans, and dopplers for pulse checks. The unit utilizes Meditech EMR for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia.
