Work Shift:

Position Overview:
  • Triages and assesses patients, determining clinical priority by reviewing medical history, current condition, and conducting interviews and physical assessments, including vital signs and chief complaints. Documents findings and discusses prognosis with medical staff.
  • Manages patient communications, assesses status, schedules treatments, reviews medication refill requests, lab results, and test outcomes, prioritizing according to protocols.
  • Provides nursing care, assists with procedures, performs EKGs, wound care, specimen collection, and ensures adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Administers medications safely, documents care, and supports prescription calls under LIP guidance. Completes competency checklists with preceptors.
  • Recognizes significant changes in patient condition, reacts appropriately, and involves family members as appropriate, respecting patient and family communication protocols.
  • Supports the core principles of quality care, compassion, dignity, and comprehensive care. Addresses emotional needs related to illness, pain, or anxiety.
  • Maintains thorough, accurate documentation of nursing actions, treatments, patient responses, and other relevant information.
  • Performs QA activities, manages quality control for testing and sterilization, and addresses discrepancies per policies.
  • Adapts to departmental changes, assists colleagues during busy periods, and performs other duties as assigned, possibly at other Capital Health practices.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree or graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • Valid NJ RN license; must apply for second out-of-state RN license (NJ or PA) within three months of hire.
  • At least one year of experience in an acute, urgent care, or outpatient setting.
  • AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider certification.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Frequent demands include standing, walking, object handling, pushing/pulling, twisting, bending, fine motor activities, and sensory functions.
  • Occasional demands include sitting, climbing, reaching, and squatting/kneeling/crawling.
  • Continuous demands involve talking and hearing.
  • Lifting requirements: 25 lbs. from floor to waist and above.
  • Sensory requirements: visual acuity (20/40 near and far), color discrimination, depth perception, and hearing.
