RN Outpatient Primary Care Practice - FT - Day - Primary Care West Windsor New

Work Shift

Capital Health Medical Group consists of more than 250 physicians and other providers offering primary and specialty care, as well as hospital-based services throughout the region.

Position Overview

  • Triages and assesses patients, determining clinical priority based on condition, medical history, and current status. Performs physical assessments, reviews medical records, and discusses prognosis with medical staff.
  • Coordinates patient medical calls, assesses status, and schedules treatment according to protocols. Reviews medication refill requests, lab/test results, and prioritizes them for providers.
  • Performs nursing care and treatments, assists providers with procedures, and documents all actions accurately. Administers medications and calls prescriptions to pharmacies under provider direction.
  • Recognizes changes in patient condition, reacts appropriately, and involves the patient’s family as appropriate. Maintains thorough, clear documentation in patient charts.
  • Performs quality assurance activities, ensures compliance with policies, and supports department adaptability and teamwork.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • NJ RN License; must have applied for second out-of-state RN license (NJ or PA) within three months of hire.
  • One year of experience in an acute, urgent care, or outpatient setting.
  • AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider certification.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Frequent demands include standing, walking, carrying objects, pushing/pulling, twisting, bending, fine motor activities, keyboard use, and sensory functions.
  • Occasional demands include sitting, climbing, reaching, and squatting.
  • Continuous demands involve talking and hearing.
  • Lifting requirements: up to 25 lbs. from floor to waist, and above waist.
  • Sensory requirements include visual acuity, color discrimination, depth perception, and hearing.
