Job summary

EvergreenHealth in Kirkland, WA seeks an RN to provide total direct nursing care within established standards and policies. You will serve as patient advocate and coordinate education for patients and families in the OSCE pathway.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a nursing program and WA RN licensure or active NLC license.
  • Current BLS certification by American Heart Association required.
  • MSN preferred but not required at minimum qualification level.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to a patient group according to standards.
  • Assess nursing needs and plan patient care with family input.
  • Coordinate patient education for patients and families.
  • Continuously implement and evaluate care with the health team.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other disciplines on care plans.
  • Communicate patient information and safety issues to supervisors and physicians.
  • Document changes in patient condition promptly to team leads.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by nursing leadership.

Job description

Wage Range: $48.21 - $87.11 per hour

Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity.

Job Summary:

Responsible for the total direct nursing care of all patients within established standards of care, hospital and unit policies, procedures, and guidelines.

The Ortho and Spine Center of Excellence (OSCE) staff are required to complete specific orientation related to the orthopedic and spine care pathways for OSCE patients. All program staff will receive the department specific orientation that guides the care of OSCE patients and eight (8) hours of education per the annual education training plan that focuses on orthopedic and spine care.

Primary Duties:
  1. Provides direct patient care and functions as a patient advocate.
  2. Assesses the comprehensive nursing needs of an assigned group of patients.
  3. Coordinates the patient and family/significant other education process.
  4. Continuously plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, incorporating patient and family/significant other into the process.
  5. Participates with physician partners and other interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient and family/significant other plan of care.
  6. Communicates effectively all relevant information (e.g., patient information, safety issues, problems with equipment, quality issues, etc.) to immediate supervisor, in timely way.
  7. Communicates and documents changes in patient condition, on a timely basis, to charge nurse/supervisor and physician.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.
License, Certification, Education or Experience:

REQUIRED for the position:

  • Graduate of a nursing program (Nursing Diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and/or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree)
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington OR holding a multistate Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS - American Heart Association by start date
