Job summary

Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Johnson County, Kansas, is seeking a Registered Nurse for Ortho and Spine Specialty on the Weekend Day shift. Applicants must be a graduate of a nursing program, licensed as a registered nurse in the applicable state, and hold current BCLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of school of nursing required.
• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
• Current BCLS.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
• WEEKEND DAY-SHIFT (7a-7p); work 24 hours, get paid for 36; fast paced 32 bed unit; opportunities for skill development & professional growth under dynamic, supportive leadership; manage complex injuries & post surgical care; tight-knit teamwork; perfect fit for motivated, detail orientated nursing professionals.
