Job summary

Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston seeks a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for the Outpatient Neuro-Oncology Clinic in the Medical Center. You will provide direct and telephone nursing care, health teaching, patient advocacy, supervision and coordination of care, and coordination of services for ambulatory patients in an age-appropriate manner.

As part of a fast-paced team, duties include coordinating education by phone, coordinating visits with imaging and subspecialists, and ensuring staffing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing, associate degree or technical diploma in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement or an associate’s degree in a related field accepted by the Texas Board of Nursing for RN license
• RN License by Texas Board of Nursing
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• 3 years’ or more nursing experience

Responsibilities

• Daily care coordination of patients within the clinical subspecialty
• Provide education concerning various aspects of care
• Coordinate nursing care across departments and subspecialties with teamwork and communication
• Coordinate initial education of patients by phone
• Coordinate visits with imaging and subspecialists
• Ensure staffing needs are met

Education

BSN/ADN/Diploma with BSN pathway or MSN enrollment
