Job summary

Bayonne University Hospital in Bayonne, NJ seeks an Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to assess, plan, implement and evaluate perioperative care for patients undergoing operative procedures.

The RN will coordinate patient care, delegate tasks to the health care team and ensure adherence to safety standards. NJ RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, IV certification, and 1–2 years of OR experience are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Must possess licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey
• Previous general, orthopedic, vascular and endoscopic surgery preferred.
• Completion of a BLS, ACLS (American Heart Association), and IV certification.
• Must have 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
• Must demonstrate excellent customer service, communication, critical thinking and interpersonal skills.

What You'll Be Doing

The Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the delivery of care to patients undergoing operative and invasive procedures. The professional nurse assumes the responsibility and accountability for the delegation of patient care to other members of the health care team. As an integral member of the health care team, coordinates patient care and communicates and collaborates extensively with the other members of the healthcare team, patients and/or patient's family or significant other(s). Maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics.
