RWJBarnabas Health’s RWJ Hamilton Operating Room is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide perioperative care in a per diem, day shift role. The RN will collaborate with the surgical team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced OR setting on a per diem basis.

Qualifications include active New Jersey RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and OR experience. The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, teamwork, and ongoing professional growth within RWJBarnabas Health.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license is required.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications are required.
• ASN or Nursing diploma is required; BSN preferred and may be pursued within 5 years.

Responsabilités

Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

• A Registered Nurse will be responsible for implementing and evaluating a plan of care for those patients undergoing a surgical and/or other invasive procedure, Aseptic technique is to be maintained at all times, Make sure the Operating Room is clean and the furniture to be used is properly arranged
• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
• Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
• Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
• Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety
• Contributing your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of care
• Taking an active role in a highly collaborative team environment where shared accountability and teamwork directly impact outcomes

Qualifications

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification, ACLS and PALS. ASN or Nursing diploma required. If candidate possesses ASN or Nursing diploma, must agree to complete BSN within five years of hire date. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. Two years OR clinical experience required.

Hours

This position offers per diem hours on the day shift with on-call required, rotating weekends as well as rotating holidays, allowing you to build strong patient relationships while maintaining balance.
