Summary

Seeking an LPN or RN responsible for providing direct nursing care to residents and supervising daily nursing activities performed by nursing assistants, in accordance with relevant standards and regulations to ensure high-quality care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Supervise nursing assistants, plan shift services, and make reports as required. Admit, transfer, and discharge residents. Provide leadership to nursing staff.
2. Complete and file recordkeeping forms, transcribe physician orders, chart notes, and complete accident/incident reports.
3. Prepare and administer medications as ordered.
4. Maintain good rapport with staff and other departments, create a positive environment, and perform physician rounds as needed.
5. Administer procedures such as catheterization, tube feedings, dressings, blood draws, massages, etc.
6. Ensure safety regulations are followed regarding equipment and supplies.
7. Maintain confidentiality of resident information and ensure privacy during care.
8. Provide IV care as needed.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to make independent decisions.
• Knowledge of nursing practices, laws, and regulations.
• Current CPR certification.
• Experience in long-term care preferred.

Physical Demands

• Ability to move intermittently throughout the day.
• Ability to cope with mental and emotional stress.
• Meet health requirements including a medical exam.
• Lift and move at least 25 pounds.
• Assist in emergency evacuations if necessary.
