Job summary

AdventHealth StaffFlex in Denver is seeking a Registered Nurse for PRN contract assignments across multiple units. Provides patient education, administers medications, and supports physicians with bedside procedures. This role offers flexible scheduling and the chance to work across facilities within the AdventHealth system.

Requires an Associate degree in Nursing, active RN license, and BLS. Two years of acute hospital experience, fluent English, and basic computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in English (read, write, and speak).
• Associate degree in Nursing or equivalent.
• Active RN license and BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide education to patients and families from admission to discharge.
• Document education and patient responses in medical records.
• Assist physicians with bedside procedures and care plans.
• Administer medications accurately as ordered and monitor patients.
• Respond to unit and hospital code situations and ensure safety.

Schedule: 36 hours per week Pay: $98/hr

Job Details:

• Provides necessary education to patients and families from admission to discharge, covering medical and nursing care plans, medications, tests, procedures, disease processes, and discharge instructions.
• Documents education provided, including patient responses and outcomes.
• Initiates referrals to healthcare providers as needed.
• Delivers competent, compassionate care to patients in pain according to policy and maintains a safe care environment.
• Administers medications accurately as ordered.
• Responds to unit and hospital code situations.
• Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients requiring oxygen support.
• Assists physicians with bedside procedures.
• Manages patient admissions, transfers, and discharges professionally.
• Verifies and signs off physician orders and obtains lab specimens as ordered.
• Evaluates the nursing care plan to ensure safe, competent care delivery.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes.
