Job Description

The Operating Room Unit at CJW Johnston-Willis is a 16-bed facility equipped with advanced surgical technologies, including robotics and specialized equipment for neurosurgery, orthopedics, urology, plastics, and general surgery. The unit does not perform transplant or cardiac surgeries. Nurses will utilize the Meditech Electronic Medical Records system to document patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the operating room setting.
• Collaborate with surgical teams, including RN, Surgical Assistant (SA), and surgical techs.
• Monitor patient status and vital signs during surgical procedures.
• Assist with positioning, prepping, and draping patients for surgery.
• Ensure surgical instruments and supplies are sterile and prepared.
• Participate in patient education and post-operative care planning.

Required Experience

• Robotic surgical experience required.
• Experience in orthopedics and neuro/spine procedures preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current Virginia Nursing License required.
