Job summary

Qualifications

• Required – Registered nurse diploma.
• Preferred – Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Required – 1 year of relevant experience as a registered nurse or 2 years as an LPN in acute care.
• Preferred – 2 years of relevant experience as a registered nurse.
• Current RN license in state of practice; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the operating room is clean, sterilized, and gathers supplies needed to complete an operation safely.
• Alleviates patient concerns before surgery.
• Organizes, plans, supervises, and provides coordinated patient care within the unit.
• Supervises, develops, and evaluates assigned departmental staff nurses and technicians.
• Promotes the adoption of nursing protocols and clinical practice guidelines to support evidence-based practice.
• Manages conflict on assigned shifts and collaborates with other supervisors and unit leadership.
