Overview
The RN Operations Manager assists in coordinating all aspects of patient care, including quality management, customer service, and financial outcomes. They support the mission, vision, and values of LCMC Health and work with management and physicians to develop and disseminate programs, policies, procedures, and people systems to achieve established goals.
Responsibilities
- Customer Service:
- Continuously displays a positive attitude that contributes to improving patient satisfaction results.
- Applies customer service skills consistent with LCMC’s Customer Service programs.
- Utilizes the service recovery process to address customers’ concerns or complaints.
- Treats all customers with dignity, respect, courtesy and compassion.
- Recognizes customer needs and begins to solve problems as soon as they are apparent.
- Interacts with patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional and courteous environment.
- Displays behaviors that focus on the customer by doing what is appropriate the first time.
- Financial Stability:
- Advises supervisor of current or anticipated problems.
- Effectively uses time and resources to accomplish duties.
- Is a self‑starter who willingly puts forth effort and time and performs tasks with minimal supervision.
- Resolves conflicting matters and schedules with peers and other staff.
- Accepts assignments and completes them in a timely fashion.
- Uses time and attendance system appropriately, and adheres to related policies and procedures.
- Aware of possible compliance issues, specifically concerning fraud and abuse, and reports them immediately.
- Patient Throughput:
- Keeps patients informed and gives periodic updates as appropriate.

- Management:
- Provides leadership and successfully oversees and supports staff in the respective areas.
- Coaches, mentors and maintains an effective team, ensuring quality and timeliness while meeting patient needs.
- Maintains professional and collegial relationships with medical staff and other departments.
- Writes and presents unified strategy and consistent communication to the collective interests of the areas.
- Allocates adequate resources and data management processes for measuring, assessing and improving service line performance.
- Collaborates with physician leadership, hospital managers and service line leaders to develop and implement growth strategies.
- Actively advocates for cardiac rehab program to patients, physicians and employees.
- Assists directors with policy integration, staffing and ensuring compliance with Joint Commission and accreditation guidelines.
- Problem Solving & Decision Making:
- Develops and implements operational plans for each area, including infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel.
- Uses critical thinking and the Nursing Process Model to identify problems, make decisions and develop solutions.
- Collects, organizes and analyzes data specific to a problem or objective.
- Recommends protocols and best‑practice guidelines for patient care across the continuum.
- Performs duties as reasonably requested to support operations and educate community members.
- Collaborates in decision‑making processes, implements corrective action plans, and follows up in a timely manner.
- Quality of Work:
- Identifies quality of care and performance improvement issues or problems.
- Collaborates with disciplines to develop corrective actions and standards of care.
- Allocates resources, information systems and data management processes for measuring and improving hospital performance and patient safety.
- Management/Leadership:
- Encourages high staff productivity and profitability by empowering team members to achieve professional goals.
- Supervises and participates in patient care as needed.
- Facilitates monthly team meetings and communicates updates on performance improvement, safety, infection control and compliance.
- Sets and evaluates measurable objectives for improving hospital performance and patient safety.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of healthcare experience.
- 3+ years of leadership or management experience.
- Registered Nursing License valid to practice in the State of Louisiana.
- American Heart Association BLS‑HCP, ACLS certification.
- Proven ability to make decisions, solve problems, manage projects and set and maintain goals within a healthcare service line.
Reporting Relationships
Does this position formally supervise employees? No.
Physical Demands
- Light physical requirements: may involve walking, standing, occasional light pushing or pulling of materials or objects up to 20 lbs, and repetitive motion at the keyboard or telephone.
- Prescribed duties include frequent sitting, occasional standing or walking, frequent reaching forward, and continuous use of a computer and telephone.
- No exposure to bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, airborne communicable diseases, extreme temperatures, radiation, uneven surfaces, extreme noise levels, or dust.
