Baptist Health Lexington is hiring a Registered Nurse-OR for a full-time, first shift in Lexington, KY. The Surgical Services Department encompasses the Pre-Op area, 20 operating rooms, a Postoperative Care Unit, an Endoscopy area, and a Sterile Processing Department—providing a comprehensive surgical continuum.

The role includes assessing patient needs, developing care plans, direct patient care, and leadership responsibilities. On-call weekends/holidays are rotated.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Kentucky.
• BSN or ADN from an accredited program.
• ADN with <10 years experience must enroll in BSN within 12 months.
• BLS certification required (within 30 days).
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and dysrhythmia training per department.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' needs and develop care plans.
• Provide direct patient care and manage delivery of care.
• Demonstrate leadership and supervise support staff.
• Support quality care and healing environment.

Description Registered Nurse-OR: Assessment of patients’ needs. Development of patient care plan/s Provision of direct care. Management of patient care delivery. Demonstrate leadership skills. Support for quality care. Customer relations and healing environment. On call requirement weekends/holidays picked by rotation. Operating Room Nurses provide care and support to patients before, during and after surgery. Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking and creativity. Must possess ability to supervise and delegate appropriate work to Patient Care Techs, Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Secretaries, and Students.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse-OR: Current RN licensure and work permit in Kentucky.
• Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
• Applicants with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor’s degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment.
