Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Operating Room Float Pool. The role involves supporting OR teams, floating among sites, and ensuring safe, evidence-based patient care across the system.

The RN will assess patients, administer medications, educate families, and document in EPIC. A NJ RN license, BLS/ACLS, and 3+ years OR experience are required; CNOR preferred. This is a full-time day shift with opportunities to advance.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• American Heart Association BLS and ACLS Certification with at least 3 years of Operating Room experience.
• CNOR preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing strongly preferred or must be completed within 5 years upon hire.
• Comfort with EPIC or other EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes, intervening when needed.
• Administer safe, evidence-based medications and hands-on care.
• Collaborate with physicians and providers to coordinate care.
• Educate patients and families clearly and compassionately.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds to ensure seamless communication.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment with shared accountability.
• Pursue professional growth through continuing education and clinical ladder opportunities.
