Job summary

Woman’s Hospital in Baton Rouge seeks an RN to join our surgical team. You will work with leading-edge technology alongside top clinicians to advance patient care.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, active LA licensure, and at least 1 year of RN experience (2 years OR preferred); certification in the area is a plus. Qualifications

  • Current licensure by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing is required.
  • One year minimum experience as an RN; two years in OR is highly preferred.
  • Certification in the area preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs assessment of the individual patient and procedure.
  • Identify patient needs and determine priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation.
  • Provide education and emotional support appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstance.
  • Coordinates all aspects of nursing care with all disciplines of the surgical team to achieve defined patient outcomes.
  • Maintains a safe environment by implementing technical and aseptic practice.
  • Directs and assists in care and handling of state of the art supplies, equipment and instruments.
  • Document care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priority.
  • Provide patient centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice standards, ANA Standards & the LA Nurse Practice Act.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Department management according to policies and procedures and the mission of Woman's Hospital.

Education

RN degree or diploma from accredited nursing program
Louisiana State Board of Nursing licensure
RN experience: 1 year minimum; OR experience 2 years preferred
Certification in the area preferred

Hours

PRN; required to work a minimum of one shift per week.

Monday - Friday; 12 hour shift (6:30a-7p) or 8 hour shift (6:30a-3p)

No call required.

Pay

$30.49 - $48.78 base pay plus PRN and applicable shift differentials
