Job summary

Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Inc. in Northampton, MA is seeking an OR Circulating Nurse to deliver safe surgical care. You will work under the Nurse Manager/Director, coordinating nursing care according to standards and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires MA RN licensure, BLS, ACLS (within 3 months), and PALS/ENPC (within 3 months), with 1–3 years OR experience. This is onsite with full-time hours and hospital benefits.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse [RN -Massachusetts] - required.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
  • ACLS certification required within 3 months of hire or transfer into position.
  • PALS or ENPC required within 3 months of hire or transfer into position.
  • Experience One (1) to three (3) years Operating Room experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Direct and coordinate all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards and collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
  • Perform the role of Circulating Nurse in the Operating Room while advocating for the anesthetized patient.
  • Ensure safe and effective care to the surgical patient while meeting physiologic and functional needs.
  • Work within the Mass General Brigham bargaining unit guidelines and report to Nurse Manager/Director.

Other Certificate/Diploma Nursing or Bachelor’s Degree Nursing preferred

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The Registered Nurse directs and coordinates all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards and collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. The Operating Room Registered Nurse performs the role of Circulating Nurse while functioning as a patient advocate for the anesthetized patient. The OR RN is responsible for providing safe and effective care to the surgical patient while meeting their physiologic and functional needs. This position is part of the Massachusetts Nurses Association Bargaining Unit at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. This position reports to the Nurse Manager/Director and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications
  • Other Certificate/Diploma Nursing required or Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred.
  • Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No.
  • Registered Nurse [RN -Massachusetts] - required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated excellent technical, interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills required. Additional unit-specific education and experience requirements are outlined in the Addendum for each unit.
