Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking an Oncology Nurse Navigator to coordinate patient care across disciplines in Shawnee, KS. The role involves scheduling, education, and collaboration with physicians, patients, and families to ensure timely, quality cancer care.

Qualifications

• RN with oncology navigation experience preferred.
• Ability to educate patients and families effectively.
• Strong coordination between physicians, patients and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Confirms scheduled appointments with referring physicians and communicates with patients, families, support staff, and physicians to schedule initial visits and treatments.
• Coordinates imaging, specialists, and supportive services for patients; assists physicians in consenting for new treatments and provides necessary education.
• Follows up after inpatient admissions to assess patient needs and identify resources to overcome barriers to care.
• Manages ordering and follow-up for genetic testing when applicable.
• Develops knowledge of oncology disease processes and serves as a clinical point of contact for scheduling and information.
